What can we believe?

The Sun Times newswire the STNG, reported the following story. It was picked up by WBBM 780, the Sun Times online, but not the Chicago Tribune online, or CLTV their affiliate news station.

Teen Wounded in Shooting Near North Side High School

CHICAGO (STNG) -- A teenager was shot in the shoulder near a North Side high school early Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The shooting occured in the 6700 block of Bosworth Avenue, according to Rogers Park District officer Michael Collazo. The identity and age of the teen has not been released.

Shots may have been fired from a moving green Cadillac, which has since been pulled over, Collazo said.

The shooting occurred near Sullivan High School, he said.

Collazo could not immediately provide additional details as of 1:45 p.m.

According to the CPD spokesman I talked to at 4:30 pm, "There was a possible shooting that occurred at 6700 N Ashland. It had nothing to do with the high school and no one was hurt."

When I asked him was the Sun Times wire story all wrong, he burst out laughing and said, "Yes, completely."
